VTP’s will become the next evolution in leisure entertainment, transforming cityscapes, boosting tourism, and offering visitors a unique and highly accessible experience.
Pettifer Estates, part of the Pettifer Group formally launched the Birmingham VTP200 in September 2007. The groundbreaking leisure destination is due to open to the public in 2010 attracting over 1 million visitors a year (as predicted by leading leisure economists ERA).
Pettifer Estates acquired Richard Pawley’s leisure interests in 2006 and have since led the design and planning team in the development of the VTP200.
Richard Pawley, now a director of Pettifer Estates, was previously Operations Director of Drayton Manor Theme Park in the West Midlands – one of Europe’s most successful theme parks - and now heads up the VTP operating team.
Pettifer Estates own the global rights to the VTP concept from Ride Trade the world’s number one designer and supplier of rides to the leisure sector. The company, established in 1967, owns the largest catalogue of rides in the world, enabling rides to be ‘refreshed’ throughout the VTP operating lifecycle, and hence maximising visitor attendance numbers.
Ride Trade, in conjunction with Richard Pawley, have refined the design and operation of the VTP since 2002, and the commitment that Pettifer has made has enabled the VTP to go from concept to reality.
The consortia are unique in that they have over 150 years combined experience in property development, operations, ride manufacture and health & safety.
The VTP provides a compelling financial proposition due to its unique nature and choice, ride flexibility, ability to trade all year round (covered rides and observation facilities), and efficient operating cost base.
Pettifer are witnessing strong interest from equity consortia and corporations who are keen to share in the success of the VTP through partnering arrangements within specific geographical territories around the world.
